Now it is time for the third reveal, which unfortunately was postponed twice due to Lori's unforeseen ill health. We all wish her a speedy recovery!
My partner, Joyce Becker of Peoria, AZ, sent me a wonderful bead soup.
Joyce made a copper S-hook clasp, copper twisty spring tubes, copper ear wires, and copper wire doodles. So talented! She also included a clay polymer lotus flower and an original focal by Emily Claire; www.Etsy.com/shop/EmandMad. The stones are turquoise, lapis, tiny tourmaline spacer gemstones, adventurine, iolite, copper glass beads and a couple of copper beads. Joyce also sent along an extra Tierra cast copper clasp and a painted, imprinted & embossed bird Vintaj disc. With so much to work with, I could not wait to get started!
The focal from Emily Claire's shop & the variety of stones were calling my name, so that's where I started. Of course, copper was the optimum wire! My friend & daughter's mother-in-law, Kay Thomerson of KayzKreationz, was trying out a new tool that bends wire (I forget the name) on my copper wire.
So I decided to use that wire & bend it just a little more!
Next I wanted to play with the beads, so I attached a small string of them to each side of the focal & made another string to place above with a variety of beads. I added a few copper beads as spacers that I had in my own stash.
Next came more wire! Woohoo! Never enough wire ------
And .... more wire in another pattern & design. Ending with Joyce's handmade copper clasp.
Here's the final outcome of the necklace.
Of course, no necklace should be worn without it's accessories! So I made a bracelet & earrings to match. I used the other copper clasp on the bracelet and the ear wires Joyce made on the earrings.
The complete set!
Thank you Joyce for all the lovely beads & copper pieces. I think I used almost all of them! I still have two items I have planned for a future project - the polymer focal and the bird Vintaj embossed & painted disc. I bought some clay to try my hand at polymer beads that I wish to incorporate with these. That will be another blog in the future. Stay tuned!
This is the bead soup I sent Joyce.
(Jasper, agate, shell, tiger's eye, bloodstone, smokey quartz crystals, coral, African trade beads, and a handmade copper toggle & clasp)
I'm excited to see what she did with it! For her creations see Joycesjoyfulgems.blogspot.com.There's so many other participants to check out. Here's the links to the third reveal. Enjoy!
